Week 10 (01.06.2020)
I hope you are all keeping well and continue to be safe. Hopefully you have all been able to spend some time in the sunshine over the past week. It does make a difference.
I would like to update you all on the process of our wider opening. This week, and the week after next, we are continuing to bring back the children of our critical worker parents and vulnerable families. We have had a small group of children in school since the government announced that schools would close to the majority of children. We know that with many key workers are beginning to return to work and therefore we predict that our numbers will be increasing over the following weeks.
We are following the government’s instructions carefully and we have arranged our bubbles following consultation with all parents through the surveys that we sent out and the subsequent phone calls. Our decisions have been based on this information alongside the knowledge of how many children we can physically accommodate on our site with our available staff members.
Although we would love to welcome all families, following our risk assessments, the guidance from the DfE and consultation with our staff, the wider opening will be slow and gradual.
We plan to begin to bring some our Year 6 children back into School during the week commencing 15th June. This is a provisional plan and we will take a final decision closer to the time with all information available to us. We will be contacting Year 6 parents individually who have indicated that they would like their children to return. Please do not send your child to school without this confirmation. If you need to contact us regarding a place in one of these bubbles, please do so by telephoning us or emailing us on: email@example.com
Year 6 children will return to School in small groups over a number of days. Once we are satisfied that our plans are working and we are reducing the risk, we will then begin to invite other year groups to return. We will be in contact to give you exact dates as soon as we are able.
We are also adhering to the government’s Track and Trace and may, at any point, have to close down bubbles due to information received from this department.
Throughout the summer term, as classes are invited back to School, it will be a decision for you as parents to make. No one will be penalised for non-attendance if you feel that your child is safer at home during this period.
Teachers will continue to set work on our Goggle Classroom Platform and members of staff will be contacting you via phone each week.
I would like to thank you all for your support during this difficult time. Thank you for your positive comments on the phone and via email. We do appreciate this. Please continue to keep the St Joseph's Family in your prayers.
