Over the course of the year, we support many different charities; local, national and global. This includes: CAFOD, For Jimmy, Lewisham Food Bank and the 999 Club.
Two members of our staff ran the London Marathon in April 2019 and the whole school community sponsored them and cheered them on along their journey.
We regularly collect donations of food and toiletries to assist families that are less fortunate than ourselves.
By teaching children about the many different charities that we can support, we are also demonstrating how we should be working together to help others.
During COVID-19, we have been amazed and overwhelmed by the charity of others towards members of our school community. The AHOY Centre provided families with hot meals twice a week, The Salvation Army and Lewisham Food Bank have been incredible with their time and food parcels that have been delivered to members of our school family and Deptford Ragged School Archive have organised and donated a vast range of books, paper and resources to help families with home learning. We cannot thank you enough. We have used the opportunities since returning to school to teach our pupils the importance of this support and how we can help to pay back the contribution, like the time when we needed it the most. Thank you!
